Ali Jahangir Siddiqui as Special Assistant to PM with the status of Minister of State

Ali Jahangir Siddiqui has been appointed as a special assistant to Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi with immediate effect, according to a Cabinet Division notification issued on another day.

Ali Jahangir Siddiqui is the founding Chairman of JS Private Equity Management, Pakistan’s largest private equity firm. He is also the Chairman of JS Bank.

Ali Jahangir Siddiqui also brings with him the rich experience of working in the Government as Member of the Privatization Commission; Member of the Private Sector Advisory Board of the Planning Commission; Member of the Sindh Board of Investment and Board Member of the Community Development Board of the Government of Sindh.

Ali J Siddiqui is a well-known philanthropist, he is serving a number of entities in an honorary capacity.

Ali Jahangir Siddiqui serves as CEO of MJSF, based here that makes grants to the education, healthcare, and social enterprise sectors. He has worked in natural disaster zones in Pakistan and has a strong personal commitment to finding new solutions to disaster response.

As a result, aside from making grants, MJSF directly provides emergency relief in humanitarian crises and implements projects in disaster zones.

In 2014, Ali Jahangir Siddiqui – bachelors in Economics from Cornell University – was a guest lecturer at National Defense University and in 2013 he was a Visiting Faculty Member of the National School of Public Policy.

In 2012, Ali Jahangir Siddiqui taught emerging markets entrepreneurship as an Executive-in-Residence at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.

In 2014, Ali Jahangir Siddiqui was honored by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader.
